Maryborough Education Centre has a long-standing relationship with the local kindergartens which provides comfort and trust with our incoming preps and their families.

Our highly trained teachers understand that the transition from kindergarten to prep can be daunting, so we have created the Ready Set Prep program to provide students with a nurturing transition into school life.

Kinder children experience school life in small groups throughout the year, prior to beginning prep. This allows them to experience the routines and processes of school. It also gives them the chance to meet our friendly staff members and the students who they will be going to school with.

We are always more than happy to take on new enrolments or answer any questions, so please do not hesitate to contact the school and organise a tour of our amazing facilities.

2026 Prep Enrolments

The Department of Education has released the statewide Prep enrolment timeline for the 2026 school year.

The timeline advises families when and how to enrol their child into Prep at a Victorian government primary school, including Maryborough Education Centre.

All government primary schools will follow the timeline in 2025 to support Prep enrolments for the 2026 school year.

You will be able to apply to enrol your child in Prep 2026 at Maryborough Education Centre from 22 April 2025.

What you need to do:

  1. Contact our school by telephone or complete an enrolment enquiry on our website to book a school tour or to learn more about our school and the enrolment application process.
  2. Download the Prep enrolment information pack from Enrolling in Prep (available by 22 April 2025). This pack includes an application form, which you can also request from our school.
  3. Submit an enrolment application for Prep by Friday 25 July 2025.
  4. You will be notified of the outcome of your application between Monday 28 July and Friday 8 August 2025. If you receive an enrolment offer, you should contact our school to accept the offer by Friday 22 August 2025.
  5. Take part in enrolment information and transition sessions during Term 4, 2025.
  6. Prepare your child to start Prep from Wednesday 28 January 2026.

Enrolment applications submitted after 25 July 2025 will be processed by our school as they are received, in accordance with the department’s Placement Policy.
