Family Support

The following is a list of websites that families can access for information and support.

Uniform assistance

If you need assistance with uniform then the Student Services team can assist you.  We can access State Schools Relief who are a charitable organisation that assists Victorian government school students who are experiencing financial disadvantage because of short-term crisis or long-term chronic need.

Breakfast Program- The Student Services team run the Breakfast Program at MEC.  Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and sets students up for success. The program provides a nutritional breakfast for all students three days per week – Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8.15am-8.50pm in Wareek.

Fruit bowl

MEC provides fresh fruit weekly free of charge for all students.  A variety of fresh fruit is provided for easy access. We encourage our students to get their serves of fresh fruit daily.

Uniform bank- MEC has a uniform bank that is open to all students and families.  Second-hand uniform is available to purchase, and uniform is available to loan in the event of a crisis, or until your own uniform can be purchased.

CSEF- The Camps, Sports and Excursions Fund (CSEF) provides payments for eligible students to attend activities like:

  • school camps or trips
  • swimming and school-organised sport programs
  • outdoor education programs
  • excursions and incursions.

Families holding a valid means-tested concession card or temporary foster parents are eligible to apply.
