Prep to Year Six

Maryborough Education Centre P-6 prepares all students to become lifelong learners by providing students with a connected, inclusive and flourishing learning community that delivers each student with a unique learning experience. Our priorities include improving learning outcomes by delivering an engaging curriculum with a significant focus on literacy and numeracy improvement. Our nurturing and highly committed staff members understand that there are many different ways a child can learn, so we have ensured that we deliver a differentiated curriculum which allows every child to be catered for and thrive.

From Prep we explicitly teach our students the school values of Kindness, Aspiration and Respect which are embedded in all aspects of our school curriculum, environment and the wider Maryborough community. These values underpin the expectations required of our staff and students throughout the journey of their school life and beyond.

We pride ourselves on keeping up to date with enhanced innovative teaching by increasing the use of ICT in the classroom and increasing our students’ world knowledge to prepare them to become informed global citizens.

Respectful relationships between staff, students and families is recognised as being instrumental in achieving improved learning for each student. Our staff go to great lengths to establish relationships and provide students with the nurturing they require.

Our learning environments are welcoming and well equipped with a range of learning resources and a library in each classroom. A key feature of the P-6 area of the school is our large turfed outdoor oval, 2 large playgrounds and 2 gaga pits that provide students with adequate exercise during break times.
