Year 7 to 12
Years 7 to 12 at MEC provides all students with a diverse curriculum program to equip them with the knowledge, skills and attributes needed to complete their schooling and to make a successful transition from school to work, training or further education. Our program is designed to develop the strengths, needs and aspirations of students.
In year 7 and 8, students undertake classes in all Learning Areas. In year 9 and 10, students undertake core subjects in English, Maths, Humanities and Science with a choice of electives. Subjects are reported against the Victorian Curriculum. In Year 11 and 12, the program provides all students with a unique timetable that gives them the opportunity to maximise their potential and realise their goals for life after school.
Our Later Years program centres around the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE), Vocational Major (VM), Victorian Pathways Certificate (VPC), and a wide range of Vocational Education and Training in Schools (VETiS) subjects that can contribute towards the successful completion of either VCE or VM. The academic curriculum is complemented with a wide range of extra curricular opportunities in sport, performing arts, technology, music, community services, languages, international education, and student leadership.
