As part of providing a diverse curriculum, we need to utilise a range of digital tools created by third parties. We actively review all software providers prior to using them in accordance with DET guidelines. Below is a list of third party software which we use here at MEC.

Software Privacy
Purpose for Use
Edrolo is used by V.C.E students to develop subject knowledge and preparedness for exams.
Privacy
Edrolo's privacy policy can be accessed here. The site uses personal information including first name, surname, and academic results for identification purposes to certify the student’s completion of training.
Consent Requirements
Parental consent for the use of Edrolo is considered ‘opt-out’ under the DET Privacy Policy. To discuss this further, please contact MEC.
Purpose for Use
The OnGuard Safety Training website is used to develop students’ knowledge of safety risks when working in technology based practical areas (e.g. woods, metals, plastics). Students access the site using login details provided by their classroom teacher.

Purpose for Use
The Office 365 Suite (O365) is collection of tools developed by Microsoft. Additional information about O365 can be accessed here.
Students access O365 applications using their eduPASS credentials.

Purpose for Use
Adobe Creative Cloud is a set of applications and services that gives students access to a collection of software used for graphic design, video editing, web development and photography. Students access Adobe Creative Cloud applications using their eduPASS credentials.

Purpose for Use
Essential Assessment is an online numeracy and literacy learning and assessment program, aligned to the Victorian curriculum. MEC uses Essential Assessment as an additional resource to develop students’ skills in curriculum subjects and to provide personalised and differentiated learning plans for students.

Mathletics is a web-based platform which encourages independent learning and the development of math skills. Mathletics supports learning for students both in the classroom and at home, through interactive activities, games and challenges that build their numeracy skills while also developing their ability to work independently and problem-solve.

Purpose for Use
Compass is a school management and administration system. It manages student enrolment, reporting on student attendance, reporting on academic progress and many other daily tasks that schools must undertake. Compass allows schools to communicate with parents and allows parents to access up-to date information about their child’s learning throughout their time at the school.
The use of Compass at MEC improves the accuracy and efficiency of school operations, delivery of school communications to help build an informed and inclusive school community, and allows parents to engage with their child’s learning.
