On Tuesday the 13th July 25 students from MEC travelled to St Arnaud for the Loddon Mallee Region Cross Country Carnival. There were over one hundred other schools from the district competing, these included larger schools from Bendigo and schools as far away as Mildura.
Our most successful competitors on the day were, Charlotte, Kody, Millie & Josh. Charlotte finished 7th in the 17-20yr Girls, Kody was 8th in the 15yr Boys, Millie was 9th in the 15yr Girls and Josh was 12th in the 17-20yr Boys.
MEC also performed extremely well in the one of the team events, where our 15yr Boys, were awarded the ‘Runners Up’ flag. This team consisted of Kody, Jake, Diesel and Charlie.
All of the above students have now qualified to travel to Melbourne for the State Final. This will be held at the Yarra Valley Racing Track, on Tuesday 5th of August. Congratulations and all the very best for the final.

On Thursday 24th of June the Student Representative Council for MEC held their first Out of Uniform Day for 2021 with the aim of raising money for the MDHS Oncology Department Fundraiser – Health & Fitness Expo, which is headed by Highland Society Restaurant Manager, Nick Weaver.
The fundraiser was selected by the students of the SRC as they were keen to support a local initiative that will benefit the Maryborough community.
The day was an absolute success with a whopping $906.95 being raised for the cause.
Nick and MDHS thanked the MEC community for their involvement and hopes that the Health and Fitness Expo Fundraiser, scheduled for
October 2, is just as successful in supporting the growth of the Oncology Department for the Maryborough Community.

Earlier this week, the P – 2 unit attended an incursion from Ecolinc. Students had the opportunity to learn about dinosaurs that roamed Victoria and other parts of Australia.
Students pretended to be paleontologists and explored fossils and features of different dinosaurs.
Students then created a model of a dinosaur using plasticine.

Today we held our year 11 and 12 celebration assembly. Unfortunately due to COVID we were unable to share this with families and friends in person but we still wanted to recognise the immense efforts our students have put in for what has been a challenging Semester. Congratulations to all award winners and we would also like to acknowledge the high work ethic, leadership and school values that all of our students show daily. We are extremely proud of our senior cohorts and look forward to seeing what achievements are reached in semester two. ... See MoreSee Less
